We're so happy you'll be joining us in southern Thailand to celebrate our wedding. Our celebration spans two beautiful spots on the Andaman coast: the ceremony in Trang on the 4th, and the beach reception at Pimalai Resort on Koh Lanta on the 6th. This guide covers how to reach both, where to stay, and how to make the most of your trip.

Before You Travel
Passport: Valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates.
Entry: Many nationalities can enter Thailand visa-free or with a visa on arrival for short stays — please check your own country's current requirements before booking.
Book early: December is high season, so flights and hotels fill up. We recommend booking 2–3 months ahead.
Travel insurance: Strongly recommended for international travel.
Getting to Trang
การเดินทางมายังตรัง
Almost everyone arrives in Thailand through Bangkok first. From there, you have two good ways to reach Trang:
Option 1 — Fly to Trang directly (easiest)
Trang has its own small airport (TST), about 15 minutes from the town center.
It handles domestic flights only — the route is to and from Bangkok's Don Mueang (DMK) airport, roughly a 1.5-hour flight.
Airlines on this route include Thai AirAsia, Nok Air, and Thai Lion Air.
If you land in Bangkok at Suvarnabhumi (BKK), you'll need to transfer to Don Mueang (DMK) for the Trang flight — allow plenty of connection time.
Option 2 — Fly to Krabi, then drive
Krabi International Airport (KBV) is the nearest major airport, around 130 km from Trang (about a 2-hour drive).
It has more flight options, including some international and frequent domestic connections.
This pairs perfectly with renting a car (see below), and the drive south is scenic.
Hat Yai (HDY) and Phuket (HKT) are other options, but both are further away (roughly 3–4+ hours by road).
Our suggestion: Fly into Krabi (KBV) and rent a car there. You'll have transport sorted for the whole trip, including the wedding venues and any island day trips.
Renting a Car — Highly Recommended
เช่ารถยนต์ · แนะนำอย่างยิ่ง
We really recommend renting a car. Trang and its beaches are spread out, public transport is limited, and having your own car makes getting to the wedding events — and exploring the area — far easier and more relaxed.
Why it's worth it
Freedom: Reach beaches, viewpoints, and the venues on your own schedule.
Comfort: Air-conditioning is very welcome in the tropical heat.
Value: Daily rates and fuel are inexpensive compared to most Western countries.
Good to know before you drive
Drive on the left — same as the UK, Japan, and Australia.
Permit: Bring an International Driving Permit alongside your home license (arrange it before you travel).
Age: Most companies require drivers to be 21+.
Insurance: Take the rental insurance — well worth the peace of mind.
Where to rent: Major companies (Avis, Hertz, Budget) and reputable local firms operate at Krabi and Phuket airports.
The Wedding Venues
สถานที่จัดงาน
Wedding Ceremony · Friday, 4 December 2026
Time: 9:00 AM
Address: 55/25, M4, Bangmak, Kantang, Trang 92110
Getting there: Easily reached by car. A Google Maps link is included in your invitation. Please arrive a little early to settle in.
Beach Wedding Reception · Sunday, 6 December 2026
Venue: Pimalai Resort & Spa, Koh Lanta
Where: Ba Kan Tiang Beach, on the southern west coast of Koh Lanta Yai (Krabi province)
Getting there: Koh Lanta is a scenic journey from Trang — see the Koh Lanta section below for full directions. We'd suggest travelling over on the 5th so you're settled before the celebration.
Where to Stay
ที่พักในตรัง
Trang offers a range of options. We'd suggest staying within about 30 minutes of Kantang for easy access to the ceremony, or by the coast if you'd like a beachside base.
By the coast
Pak Meng Beach: A popular, easygoing beach with sunset views and several resorts — a lovely tropical base.
Chao Mai / Hat Yao area: Quieter beaches near Hat Chao Mai National Park, with clear water for swimming.
In Trang town
More hotels, restaurants, markets, and conveniences, plus the train station and airport nearby.
A practical, central base, roughly 30–40 minutes' drive from the Kantang area.
Tip: Book early — December is peak season. Many hotels can arrange airport transfers if you let them know your arrival details.
Koh Lanta & the Reception
เกาะลันตา · สถานที่จัดงานเลี้ยง
Our beach reception on the 6th takes place at the beautiful Pimalai Resort & Spa, tucked into 100 acres of tropical forest along a long stretch of white-sand beachfront on the quiet southern end of Koh Lanta. It's a stunning, laid-back island setting — and well worth arriving a little early to enjoy.
We'd suggest travelling to Koh Lanta on the 5th (the day after the ceremony) so you're relaxed and settled before the celebration on the 6th. Many guests may also enjoy adding a few extra nights on the island.
How to get there from Trang
By car: Head north on Route 4 toward Krabi, turn onto Highway 4206 near Ban Hua Nam Khao, and continue to the Ban Hua Hin pier. There's no bridge from the mainland, so you take a short car ferry to Koh Lanta Noi, then cross the bridge onto Koh Lanta Yai. From there it's a scenic drive south to Pimalai.
By minivan: Shared minivans from Trang take roughly 2 hours and can be arranged through travel agents (including near the Trang train station).
Car ferries run daily from early morning until late evening — handy to keep in mind if you're travelling later in the day.
Resort transfers: Pimalai also arranges private transfers and boat transfers — worth asking when you book your stay.
Where to stay on the island
At Pimalai: Staying at the resort itself is the most seamless option for the reception, with rooms, pool villas, restaurants, and a spa on-site.
Puteri Lanta Family Villas: A lovely, family-friendly option right in Kantiang Bay, just a short hop from Pimalai — comfortable villas, a pool, and free parking.
Phuchawee Lanta: Also a stone's throw from Pimalai in Kantiang Bay, with great reviews, mountain views, and a pool — a good-value choice close to the reception.
Klong Dao Beach: The main beach near Saladan pier — convenient, family-friendly, lots of restaurants (toward the north of the island).
Phra Ae (Long Beach): A long, relaxed stretch with a good mix of mid-range stays.
Khlong Khong: More low-key and bohemian, known for beach bars and sunsets.
Tip: Pimalai, Puteri Lanta, and Phuchawee are all in the quiet southern Kantiang Bay area, so staying at any of them keeps you close to the reception. Beaches further north (Klong Dao, Long Beach) mean a longer drive on the day.
While you're on Koh Lanta
Snorkeling and diving among nearby reefs — Pimalai has its own dive center.
Day trips to islands like Koh Rok and the Phi Phi group.
Lanta Old Town's wooden shophouses and the lighthouse at the southern national park.

Vaccinations & health
General guidance only — please see your own doctor or a travel clinic for advice tailored to you, ideally 4–8 weeks before you fly.
Nothing is mandatory for most travelers entering Thailand. The one exception: proof of yellow fever vaccination is required only if you're arriving from (or have transited) a yellow-fever risk country in parts of Africa or South America.
Routine vaccines: Make sure your standard ones are up to date — measles-mumps-rubella (MMR), tetanus/diphtheria/pertussis (Tdap), and polio. Measles in particular is worth checking, as cases have been rising globally.
Commonly recommended for Thailand: Hepatitis A and typhoid are the two most often suggested, as both spread through food and water.
Depending on your plans: Hepatitis B, rabies, and Japanese encephalitis are sometimes advised for longer stays or rural travel — your travel clinic can advise based on your itinerary.
Malaria: Not a concern in the main tourist areas of Krabi, Trang, and Koh Lanta — antimalarial medication generally isn't needed for this trip.
Mosquito bites: Dengue exists in the region, so it's still wise to use insect repellent and cover up at dawn and dusk.
Money
ATMs are widely available; carry some cash, as smaller shops and beaches are cash-only.
Cards are accepted at larger hotels and restaurants.
Staying comfortable
Drink bottled water rather than tap water.
Bring high-SPF sunscreen, insect repellent, and light, breathable clothing.
What to wear
Ceremony: Smart casual to formal.
Beach reception: Elegant, breezy beachwear — light fabrics and comfortable footwear for sand.
